[ Thanks, Akechi, it looks like Kano gets cookies today, sitting up on his bed when he hears the knocking at his window and looks surprised to see a person there— Yuya and Odd-Eyes there- instead of what he'd assumed was the bucket on the pulley system out there knocking against the wall.

He hops off the bed and bounds over towards the window to slide the pane open. ]

What's up, what's up? [ a glance down at the cookies... ] Are we having a picnic?

Do you want to have a picnic? [Yuya crawls inside, giving Odd-Eyes a pat on the head once he's on steady ground.] I only brought cookies, but we can get more.

Hm, hmm~ Is today a picnic day? I think it is! I can't provide anything 'sides tea bags, though!

[ It'll be on Yuya's wallet if he wants to have a proper picnic, because Kano's room is as empty as it always is. One of the desk chairs has been moved over to the door and jammed underneath the doorknob to keep the door from opening, but other than that, same old, same old. ]

Well, just tea and cookies is enough for flower viewing. [They'll snag some mugs from one of the common areas and it'll be fine.

He looks at the door. Right, the guards.] How much trouble will you get in if we leave without telling them?

[ They'll have to grab mugs from one of the other floors, because it's been a difficult time babysitting Kano these past few days and he makes no great effort to make the job easier. ]

Lots, but, does that matter? They've come to expect it, so don't worry, don't worry~

[ He never tells anybody where he's going, and the more guards they pile on him and keep a closer watch, the more fun he'll just have shaking them off. He's not scared of them. The worst they can do is put him on house arrest in his room, and they're basically already doing that.

He heads over to the window and leans half his body out. Last time he did this, he was staring at Toki's dead body on the ground, haha, yikes. ]

Hey, Odd-Eyes~! Feel like going on a trip today?

[Odd-Eyes grumbles in response and sniffs loudly. Yuya giggles.]

We're going to have to split the cookies three ways.

[But that's okay, it's a full box. He leans against the wall by the window.] Is the tea in your room? We can grab it and get some mugs further down... we'll borrow Gongenzaka's on the first floor.

[ Three ways is fine, and Kano turns around and grins, hands in his jacket pockets and lifted up to flap in the air. He keeps them in here! He just sort of keeps tea bags in his pockets, that's the only thing I ever manage to remember he keeps in there. ]

Ohh~ We're going real fancy with the tea cups, huh? I'm looking forward to it now! If there's nothing else you think we need, let's go~ The sooner we leave the better!

[Yuya laughs softly.] Okay, okay. Just hop onto Odd-Eyes, and I'll follow you out.

[His familiar is clinging to the window sill, so it shouldn't be a struggle to get out. Yuya will follow him on the way out and close the window behind him, so it's less obvious after Odd-Eyes scales them down to the first floor.]

[ He doesn't need telling twice, easing himself out the window and sliding down a little so Yuya will have space to climb on after him. It's strange, and kind of funny, he thinks to himself, how far a cry this is from the very first time he'd met Odd-Eyes outside of this very window. He was scared of the familiar for a very long time, and now look at them...

He gets down to the ground floor first, and jiggles the latch on Gongenzaka's window. Does he leave it open or will they have to pick it... ]

[As it turns out, Gongenzaka usually leaves it unlocked and the window opens easily. There's an interesting divide in style between his and Maya's things, and luckily neither of them are around.

Yuya passes the cookies to Odd-Eyes before crawling in. He knows exactly where Gon keeps all his tea stuff, opening the cupboard to grab a couple mugs and the portable electric kettle.

He holds the kettle out to Kano.] Can you go fill this up in the sink?

[ Why does nobody care about security in this place?? Especially on the first floor, where people like Kano could so easily break in and steal whatever they want, if he weren't scared of Maya still, a little.

He gives Yuya a quick salute as he grabs the kettle and heads over to the bathroom, setting it in the sink under the open faucet as he goes ahead and pockets the bar of soap and the rest of the roll of toilet paper. Useful things. ]

[Now he's going to have to explain the petty theft, only Kano would want someone else's used bar of soap.

Yuya crawls right back out the window and sits himself on Odd-Eyes. He waits for Kano to exit come out.] I know of a really nice place we can go to.

[ Soap is soap!!! Great for pranks and hygiene alike. ]

For flower-watching, huh? I've never gone out to do something like that before, so I'll be relying on you to show me a nice view~

[ Here is the kettle. Yuya gets to carry it, because it's heavy and Kano is lazy. ]

...haha, it's really too bad there aren't any crickets left.

Yeah. They're not sakura trees, but they're still really nice.

[A cluster of mangolia trees, scattered in a field of smaller wildflowers and grass. Yuya taps Odd-Eyes with the mugs as he gets up and starts towards it.] Don't eat any of the cookies before we get there, okay?

[A high-pitched growl in response, while Yuya grins and then finally takes the kettle. It's a bit of a walk, though Odd-Eyes will make it faster. It's also off the path to Soleil, a little out of the way and it'll probably make them harder to find.] What did you want to put crickets in now?

[ Magnolia trees are nice too, and coupled with the flowers and grassy fields, it's just another reminder that it really is spring now, that summer is almost here, that the year's already so far underway.

Picnics mean wicker baskets and checkered blankets, but they don't have that so Kano just goes ahead and flops down on the emptiest space around the tree he can find— helped out a lot by Odd-Eyes who the few people who are here, give a weary glance at and decide they'll let the dragon and his friends enjoy the tree for today. ]

Crickets are universal things you can put in anything~ I was thinking, whoever's birthday's coming up next, I could get another piñata...

A cricket pinata sounds more like a prank... [Yuya slides off and sits under one of the trees, setting down the kettle and mugs before making a grabby hand at Kano. It's time for tea.

Odd-Eyes drops the cookie box next to him before settling down in the sun, his curled around his legs.] When's your birthday?

[ Kano laughs, because it can be both a gift and a prank— most of his gifts serve that dual purpose anyways, complete with celebratory glitter. ]

December 25th! A long ways away from now, so you've got plenty of time to save up for the crickets~

[ He's more interested in the tea than the cookies, and more interested in hot water than he is tea, but he hands over the tea bags all the same. There's an assortment of green tea, Earl grey, some sort of red passionfruit thing, and ginger lemon. ]

[Ooh, ginger lemon. Yuya claims that one for himself before holding the rest in a spread for Kano to pick his. ]

Really? That means the soonest birthday is Gongenzaka... or it might be Toki, I don't know his birthday. [He'll have to find out, obviously.] But I think we should save a cricket pinata for your party.

[Because he's, honestly, the only one that'll appreciate it.

He pops open the cookie box while the tea steeps, revealing a mix of chocolate-chip M&M and peanut butter.]

[ Kano goes for the weird red tea, mulling over how it's weird Toki goes out of his way to celebrate other people's birthdays but Kano doesn't know when his is either. It doesn't really matter; birthdays aren't a big deal, and is mostly just an excuse to glitterbomb people. ]

Haha, yeah, I sorta of want to send crickets to Bonbon, but he'd be super mad, wouldn't he?

[ He reaches for a M&M cookie and picks off the M&Ms and leaves the rest of the cookie. ]

[Yuya's expression twisty wryly.] He wouldn't find surprise crickets funny at all.

[Yuya takes a different M&M cookie, and then offers a peanut butter one to Odd-Eyes. He lifts his head just enough to bite it right out of Yuya's hand, and Yuya doesn't seem to care about all those sharp teeth around his fingers.] What do you think of this place?

[ Yuya is a brave soul who doesn't value his fingers. Kano keeps his to himself, balancing his scavenged M&Ms on one knee as he hooks his hands behind them and leans back to look up at the tree in full bloom. ]

...It's nice. If it were summer, I'd want to laze around and nap and not do anything~ But being here in spring is nice too! When we finish the cookies, can I have the box?

Sure, you can have the box. [It's just a normal paper bakery box, it's cardboard. But Kano can live his best life.] Anyway, you can still come in the summer. Or any time! Since it's not in town or on campus, there aren't a lot of students this way. Odd-Eyes says it's usually empty.

[Odd-Eyes is also usually here at odd hours, though, so maybe that doesn't count.

Yuya shifts to rest his back to the tree as he eats through the first cookie. This is comfortable. There's a nice breeze that knocks a couple of the loose magnolias down. Although, Kano coming here other times might mean dragging the guards along. Hm.]

Hey, your eyes weren't always red, right?

[That's... blunter than usual.]

[ He's looking forward to having that normal paper bakery box, which will be used for nefarious purposes if it ever gets to that point in the thread, but right now he's too preoccupied with almost choking on a piece of candy when Yuya asks that question right out of the blue. ]

-—Eh? No? Why??

Because Shuuya's eyes were more of a brown. Gold-brown? [Yuya taps his chin, leaning on one hand as he tilts his head sideways at Kano.] But your eyes are still red even if your illusions are down, so it's not just making them that way. They changed?

Eh... It's weird hearing "Shuuya" when it's still just me. But, aren't there some sort of medical conditions that make your eyes change color? Ah- maybe I'm dying?

[ He doesn't answer the question straight at all. It's such a stupid thing, being able to change his entire appearance to anything he wants, but so long as he's himself, he can't just wipe away the color of his eyes and nothing else, how stupid. ]
