[ He knows that Toki had a sister, but that's a can of worms he was never willing to pry open and have spill out. Tsuyukusa also looked after him, sort of. Enough to threaten Kano over Toki's mental well-being. What happened to Toki's parents? There's lots he doesn't know about Toki— he knows very little, possibly nothing at all. Just that his favorite color is this weird orange. And even that he doesn't know if it's the truth. ]

Hmmm... They're getting worse, aren't they? It sorta feels like it.

[ Then again, it's been a full month since he'd really seen Toki, and longer since he'd seen Toki have a vision. ]

He's been having some really bad ones lately. [Yuya rubs the back of his neck.] And I think, although they're getting clearer he's not getting used to them. And he doesn't talk to other seers as mitch as he should, so he only has his own interpretation and it might be wrong.

[ Kano claps Yuya on the back before he starts looking too down, hurrying him down the path because you can't really be too upset when you're trotting towards the ice cream shop. ]

Something to encourage him about, right? Or you can always send him my way! I've been reading up about that sorta stuff, so maybe I can help~

[ His reading has nothing to do with Seers and Sight, but whatever. He's a good distraction. He can distract Toki, get his mind of things, he's good at that. ]

I'm trying! [Yuya's head lulls back as he starts forward, then he straightens up.] And you're not a seer.

[Yuya stuffs his hands in his pockets.] But you two talk a lot, right? That's still good, so Toki doesn't think he's all alone.

You don't have to be a Seer to be able to interpret that sorta stuff. Like playing dream interpretation, right? It's like that!

[ Except, instead of dreams, it's nightmares. But it's the same sort of thing, he likes to believe. ]

I dunno if it's right to say we talk a lot, though. We don't really hang out?

[ Though, to be fair, Kano doesn't do a lot of hanging out with other people, if he can help it. He hates parties and never really lingers long in them, if he chooses to show up in the first place. And the times he goes out of his way to invite people somewhere specific, there's always a secondary gain in mind, a purpose behind his actions. Like he has to justify hanging out, instead of it being simply because he wants to hang out. ]

You don't? [Yuya raises his eyebrows.] He'd really missed you too, so I thought you hung out more.

[ ...Kano skips slightly ahead of Yuya, like the hood isn't enough to hide his face, gathers his thoughts, then throws a glance back over his shoulder. ]

Haha, it's strange, right? I love him a lot, but it's that sort of feeling! Where I don't want to be a bother~

[ Because he can't be the only person who's realized that every other time he hangs out with Toki, bad things happen. Kano's ideas of fun tend to be wild and destructive in their own right, but Toki doesn't question him— which is why Kano likes him so much but even then, he should question him even just a little bit— and that doesn't couple well with their mutual lack of self-preservation. ]

[They're a disaster made in heaven that will almost kill Yuya in a few days, but also he's pretty sure Toki would cause trouble on his own and it isn't fair to blame Kano for everything. Just some things.]

You love him, huh? [Yuya gives Kano a coy look at he leans over to playfully nudge Kano with his arm.] Do you love Nana too?

[ Ooooohh, nonono, they're not getting into this again. Kano laughs and swats Yuya away. ]

Yep, I love her a lot too, but in a different way! It's the same with you, but it's different! So, be satisfied with just that much, okay?!

[Yuya laughs it off because Kano doesn't say it right at his face and then he's swatted away.]

I'm satisfied, I'm satisfied! [He tapers down to a giggle.] It's just, saying it so openly... that's nice to hear.

[Even Yuya wouldn't be so bold with something like 'I love you', given where he grew up.] If you told Nana something like that, she'd get really red!

[ Kano's definition of love might be a bit off-kilter, but nobody has to know that, and he's found that declaring it so openly is a good way to satisfy people and get them off his back. Usually, that's what happens, anyways. ]

Aah, that red would be anger, though!! No way am I telling her, never ever! And you're not allowed to either!!!!

Anger? No way! [Yuya puts his hands to his cheeks, swaying a little like he's some in-love school girl.] The boy she likes says he loves her, she'd be so embarrassed but so happy too!

[ A deep breath.

And the most serious face he can muster, as he turns and clamps both hands down on Yuya's shoulder. ]

Yuya. Promise me. Don't tell her.

Eh--[Yuya blinks rapidly at the severity of Kano's expression, his own slipping a little in response.]

I'm not going to tell her. [It'd mean more coming from Kano, and Yuya's not going to steal the wind in those sails.] But you should give yourself more credit.

[ ...Immediately, as if with a flick of a switch, Kano is all smiles, and he laughs. ]

I'll hold you to that promise, alright?! But it has nothing to do with credit, so never mind that, forget about it~ We were going for ice cream, weren't we? What flavors do you think you'll get? I hope they have mint chip~

I haven't thought about it yet. [Instead he moves his hands to Kano's shoulders, and now it's his turn to look a little more severe.]

Kano, can you answer me honestly? Do you... feel very seriously about Nana? [He puts his hand to his chest.] Romantically?

[ Kano steps back, letting Yuya's hands slide off his shoulder.

Does he feel very seriously about Nana? Romantically? ...He can at least answer Yuya honestly, even if he knows it's not the answer he wants to hear. ]

Sorry, Yuya. But that's something I cannot answer you honestly. Not yet. Give me a little time, alright?

[Yuya lets out a little breath, a smirk tugging his lips as he lowers his hands.] No, don't worry. You don't have to hurry and figure it out. I was just curious.

[Nana's on the same page after all, so if they're both taking their time navigating their feelings then Yuya isn't worried at all. He'd just wondered if maybe Kano was falling in love faster than Nana...]

[ Kano is too busy summoning demons to deal with love, and he'd like to keep it that way. Friends are already a huge mistake; he doesn't need to fall in love and dig himself an even deeper hole.

It's his turn to bump shoulders with Yuya, and then pick up the pace again because a mouthful of ice cream will save him from needing to talk. ]

Hey now, I don't go and poke around your love life, do I? Just for that, I'll have you suffer with curiosity for a long time to come~

[Yuya speeds up beside him.] Well, I don't have a love life. You can ask, but it won't be satisfying.

[And it's different because he's dating Nana, Kano's lucky he gets Yuya's approval there.]

[ lmfao if Yuya cares about Nana at all, he should not approval Kano's anything.

But this is it, right? Permission to ask anything he wants and expect an honest answer. ]

The~n, tell me the top five guys you love romantically or would consider loving romantically! In order!

[Yuya stops and gapes at Kano. And then he lunges to cover Kano's mouth, a faint blush on his face as he looks around wildly to see if anyone else heard that.] I don't have five guys I really like.

[He has like, one and a half and a bunch of idols he secretly crushes on. It's not a lie!!]

[ Let this be a lesson: if you pry into Kano's private life, he will return the favor 23490873-fold. He laughs, muffled under Yuya's hand, and sticks his tongue out at Yuya's palm because he's gross, before pulling away. ]

Haha, I'll make it easier for you, then! Just one! I'll let you get away with just telling me one~

[Yuya's face turns even redder, but he leans in and lowers his voice because secrets means don't tell them in the middle of campus.] I'll tell you one when other people aren't around that might hear.

[ Kano looks absolutely delighted, because he'll hold Yuya to that promise, even though he had refused to answer Yuya's question in the first place. ]

Alright~! I know the perfect place!! We'll go get our ice cream, and then we're taking a day trip~
