[They're a disaster made in heaven that will almost kill Yuya in a few days, but also he's pretty sure Toki would cause trouble on his own and it isn't fair to blame Kano for everything. Just some things.]

You love him, huh? [Yuya gives Kano a coy look at he leans over to playfully nudge Kano with his arm.] Do you love Nana too?

[ Ooooohh, nonono, they're not getting into this again. Kano laughs and swats Yuya away. ]

Yep, I love her a lot too, but in a different way! It's the same with you, but it's different! So, be satisfied with just that much, okay?!

[Yuya laughs it off because Kano doesn't say it right at his face and then he's swatted away.]

I'm satisfied, I'm satisfied! [He tapers down to a giggle.] It's just, saying it so openly... that's nice to hear.

[Even Yuya wouldn't be so bold with something like 'I love you', given where he grew up.] If you told Nana something like that, she'd get really red!

[ Kano's definition of love might be a bit off-kilter, but nobody has to know that, and he's found that declaring it so openly is a good way to satisfy people and get them off his back. Usually, that's what happens, anyways. ]

Aah, that red would be anger, though!! No way am I telling her, never ever! And you're not allowed to either!!!!

Anger? No way! [Yuya puts his hands to his cheeks, swaying a little like he's some in-love school girl.] The boy she likes says he loves her, she'd be so embarrassed but so happy too!

[ A deep breath.

And the most serious face he can muster, as he turns and clamps both hands down on Yuya's shoulder. ]

Yuya. Promise me. Don't tell her.

Eh--[Yuya blinks rapidly at the severity of Kano's expression, his own slipping a little in response.]

I'm not going to tell her. [It'd mean more coming from Kano, and Yuya's not going to steal the wind in those sails.] But you should give yourself more credit.

[ ...Immediately, as if with a flick of a switch, Kano is all smiles, and he laughs. ]

I'll hold you to that promise, alright?! But it has nothing to do with credit, so never mind that, forget about it~ We were going for ice cream, weren't we? What flavors do you think you'll get? I hope they have mint chip~

I haven't thought about it yet. [Instead he moves his hands to Kano's shoulders, and now it's his turn to look a little more severe.]

Kano, can you answer me honestly? Do you... feel very seriously about Nana? [He puts his hand to his chest.] Romantically?

[ Kano steps back, letting Yuya's hands slide off his shoulder.

Sorry, Yuya. But that's something I cannot answer you honestly. Not yet. Give me a little time, alright?

[Yuya lets out a little breath, a smirk tugging his lips as he lowers his hands.] No, don't worry. You don't have to hurry and figure it out. I was just curious.

[Nana's on the same page after all, so if they're both taking their time navigating their feelings then Yuya isn't worried at all. He'd just wondered if maybe Kano was falling in love faster than Nana...]

[ Kano is too busy summoning demons to deal with love, and he'd like to keep it that way. Friends are already a huge mistake; he doesn't need to fall in love and dig himself an even deeper hole.

It's his turn to bump shoulders with Yuya, and then pick up the pace again because a mouthful of ice cream will save him from needing to talk. ]

Hey now, I don't go and poke around your love life, do I? Just for that, I'll have you suffer with curiosity for a long time to come~

[Yuya speeds up beside him.] Well, I don't have a love life. You can ask, but it won't be satisfying.

[And it's different because he's dating Nana, Kano's lucky he gets Yuya's approval there.]

[ lmfao if Yuya cares about Nana at all, he should not approval Kano's anything.

But this is it, right? Permission to ask anything he wants and expect an honest answer. ]

The~n, tell me the top five guys you love romantically or would consider loving romantically! In order!

[Yuya stops and gapes at Kano. And then he lunges to cover Kano's mouth, a faint blush on his face as he looks around wildly to see if anyone else heard that.] I don't have five guys I really like.

[He has like, one and a half and a bunch of idols he secretly crushes on. It's not a lie!!]

[ Let this be a lesson: if you pry into Kano's private life, he will return the favor 23490873-fold. He laughs, muffled under Yuya's hand, and sticks his tongue out at Yuya's palm because he's gross, before pulling away. ]

Haha, I'll make it easier for you, then! Just one! I'll let you get away with just telling me one~

[Yuya's face turns even redder, but he leans in and lowers his voice because secrets means don't tell them in the middle of campus.] I'll tell you one when other people aren't around that might hear.

[ Kano looks absolutely delighted, because he'll hold Yuya to that promise, even though he had refused to answer Yuya's question in the first place. ]

Alright~! I know the perfect place!! We'll go get our ice cream, and then we're taking a day trip~

[There's a pit of dread in Yuya's stomach, not even at the idea of telling Kano specifically so much as admitting that feeling at all.]

Fine. [He pulls back, suddenly less enthused for ice cream. It'll be on Kano to follow up with it, or else Yuya will let the topic die forever.]

[ This is divine retribution for bringing up the topic of love lives, Yuya. Kano takes Yuya's hand before he can escape— he knows that expression— and drags him to the nearest ice cream shop so they can get their ice cream and sprinkles and disgusting bright red cherries. ]

[The worst handholding.

At least he's suitably distracted by the ice cream enough to not look like he's on his way to an execution, getting a chocolate double-scoop come with lots of sprinkles and whip cream. And like 20 napkins because he has no table manners and will make a mess.]

[ Kano does like to ruin the handholding experience for people.

He fills his waffle cone with sprinkles before setting his two scoops on top- both mint chip- and even though he asks for a cherry on top, the moment they get their ice creams and are shooed outside so they don't drip on the floor, Kano gives his cherry to Yuya. ]

Wanna hang outside to eat, or eat while we walk?

We'd still be walking outside, wouldn't we? So if that's not to boring for you... [He adjusts his hold on his ice cream, two-hands so Kano can't claim his again and also because he's trying to eat as quickly as he can at the edges to combat the melting.]

Walking it is~!!

[ Kano only needs one hand for his cone so he goes ahead and links arms with Yuya in lieu of handholding, a reminder that there is no escape.

Like this, its not boring, and Kano makes his own fun out of eating the ice cream. AKA he licks his ice cream and ignores all the chocolate chips so that, at the end, he's left with a cone filled with a sludge of half-melted rainbow sprinkles and chocolate. The best part.

Anyways, they're headed out of town. ]

[Yuya would feel more embarrassed about it if it wasn't that he knew it's just because Kano is keeping him hostage for answers.]
