Uh--yeah! [Yuya smirks, shaking his head before he turns back to the wardrobe to fish Kano out a pair of pants as well. Whatever looks comfortable and isn't just jeans, if possible.

That should only take a minute before he knocks on the door again.]

[ He draws the line at asking Yuya to dig through his underwear drawer, so a fresh pair of pants will have to do, along with Yuya's shirt that he puts on after he's toweled off, and sticks a bare arm through the crack of the door to take the pants. Wearing pants that aren't jeans is weird... being barefoot and losing the inch of height granted by his boots is also weird. ]

[An inch of height lost and he's still taller than Yuya. Who is doing a bad job hiding his amusement, but he does pass the pants through the crack in the door and leaves Kano to getting dressed.]

[ And he's going to hold onto that inch with everything he's got, even if he has to drink gallons of chocolate milk to help him grow.

Kano gets changed quickly and doesn't bother with brushing his hair or anything like that because when he opens the door— flinging it open with a dramatic flourish—- ...of course it looks like he's wearing the exact same thing as he always is, black jacket and brown shirt, dark pants and boots, everything neat and clean and as it should be. The actual jacket he has bundled up in his arms, and he goes ahead and stuffs it into his closet with all his other personal belongings he can't be bothered to actually put in his desk or on a shelf. ]

[Yuya at least doesn't stand next to the bedroom door, sitting on the desk (because there's no chair) and perking up when Kano comes out.]

Feels better not to be so grimy, right?

Eh... It feels weird!!! Like I gotta keep clean after all that effort, but that's no good~ You should be prepared to get your hands dirty whenever it calls for it, you know?

[ Whether that's sawing through the floor or jumping out the window, doing it in nice clean clothes makes it feel like all the effort of bathing will go to waste. At least when he's wearing his old clothes, it's already dirty and getting it dirtier wouldn't matter, he can bleed on it all he wants and it's fine. ]

How 'bout you? You look good in black and black! [ and black and black and garish colorful mismatching socks. ]

Hey, I have no problem getting dirty. A bath is even better because of that. [That moment of cleanness... also, just soaking for a while is relaxing.

He slides off the desk, pulling the edge of the shirt slightly.] It probably looks better on you, but I'll take it.

[ Baths are dangerous because he feels like he's going to fall asleep the moment he gets into one. Showers are similarly dangerous because you stand under the hot water and dissociate and suddenly it's half an hour later and the water's run cold. Definitely some sort of black magic going on.

Kano looks down and pulls at the edge of his shirt too— Yuya's shirt, which fits well enough on him, while all of Kano's clothes tend to run slightly large, in the futile hopes that he'll continue to grow— and recasts the illusion so he's matching Yuya now, right down to the mismatched socks. ]

[Sleeping in baggy oversized clothes is the best anyway, as far as Yuya's concerned.

He gives him a thumbs up.] It's great! Chic fashion!

I don't think I know what that word means!

[ Useful and comfortable are what he goes for, dark and earthy colors so he never has to worry about color coordinating anything. Lazy fashion.

He goes and gets Nightmare so he can set her up on top of the bed, and then hops back down to survey the room. ]

Hmm, hmm~ Do you move around a lot when you sleep? Maybe you should go under the desk...

I think it's supposed to be big city fashion or something? [He doesn't actually know, either.

He crosses to the bed to grab a pillow, because he's claiming at least that and a blanket if he can get away with it, and pauses.]

Well, I've never rolled out of bed or anything. It's most that I talk, or... scream?

[ Nightmare gives Yuya an irate a look as a lizard can manage, but allows him the pillow and blanket. There is only one other pillow and Kano lets Nightmare have it, going ahead to hop up onto the desk to sit now that Yuya's left the spot vacant. ]

A sleep talker, huh~ Have you ever heard yourself? Like, a recording?

No. But I've been told it sounds disturbing.

[Most people don't listen closely enough for anything but the sounds of screaming or choked crying. Toki was the first to give him details of words he was saying, and Yuya knits his brow.] Like death, I guess. They never seemed like they meant anything, though.

Hm... Alright!! I'm going to invade your privacy by recording you while you sleep, so go on and get comfortable, night-night!!

[ He hops off the desk to turn the lights off, go to bed. ]

Eh--hey! [Geez. But Valvatorez did tell him to get some help recording his dreams, and he's been reluctant to ask Toki given his... everything. He doesn't want to burden him when he has his own problems to sort through, so he's been putting it off.

Maybe it'll be a good thing. Yuya settles on a spot on the floor, tucking the pillow under his head and wrapping himself up in the blanket to sleep.

Or not sleep, as the case is. Every time he start to drift off he jolts with a soft gasp and widens his eyes, suddenly not tired at all. That feeling of drifting off to oblivion just isn't comfortable anymore.]

[ The fact that he has to sleep on the floor instead of the bed probably isn't helping much either. It can't be very comfortable for Kano either, who- instead of grabbing a blanket to lie down on the floor next to Yuya- chooses to lie on top of his desk with his legs hanging off the edge at the knee so he can kick them idly, soft rhythmic thumps. He doesn't sleep either, tapping away on his phone with the dimmest screen setting possible, angled in a way that the light doesn't reach the floor past the desk, and he glances over at Yuya every time he startles awake.

He will give Yuya about two hours to fall asleep before intervening, around the same amount of time he typically allows himself to lie in bed unable to sleep before giving up and going outside. ]

[It takes more than two hours on his own, the rush of panic filling him with energy that lingers as he keeps himself still and quiet on the floor and waits for it to pass. The first couple times he tries not to think, staring at the floor. But it doesn't last long before he lets his thoughts catch up to him, and instead of sleeping he just lays there thinking, and thinking, and overthinking.

He's never had a problem sleeping before.]

[ Alright, enough of that. Kano can't sleep until Yuya does first, so he rolls around and lets his arm hang off the edge of the desk, waving it in front of Yuya's face. ]

Hey... pssstt-- You awake?

[Yuya blinks, looking up at Kano and offering a faint, sheepish smile.] No.

[Yes.]

No, huh? Well, too bad, wakey-wakey~ I don't think I've eaten in two days, so let's go out and get a midnight snack! Do you like milkshakes?

[ He wants milkshakes... ]

[Yuya shifts up, propping himself on his arm.] Yeah. You want to get one from the cafeteria?

Alright! Go on and get up so I don't step on you--

[ hopping off the table in half a second- ]

[Yuya scrambles back at the warning, getting tangled in the blanket before he stumbles to his feet.] I'm up, I'm up!

[ Kano laughs and hops off the end of the desk instead of over the side of it, going over to find his boots so he doesn't have to walk around barefoot outside. ]

Hm~ Still kinda cold outside, probably, so take that blanket with you! Throw it over your head and come with me~ Don't make a sound, okay?

... Okay. [Yuya assumes he has some plan, maybe to sneak around the guards?

He pulls the blanket around him, over his head and clutched by his hands in front of him like a hooded cloak.]
