[ He lets Maverick do all the work of hauling him up without bothering to find his footing until he's almost straight upright, one hand to his nose that isn't bleeding, and that's a good thing because he never did figure out how to heal things that aren't other people. [Phew... At least he's still Kano. Mav reaches up to inspect his nose, realizes he's still got his phone in that hand, hangs up, and uses it as a light to better examine the damage. Not too bad, thankfully. He's not sure how quickly he can throw an illusion up, though... Mm.]

Ack—- [ The light hurts more than his face, really, and he squeezes his eyes shut and pulls his hood up when it passes over his face. Everything looks fine. No bruising at all.

He's quick to duck out of the way, though, hands in his pockets to accentuate a shrug. ]

I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd come over to say hi~ And maybe walk you home?

[Satisfied, he lowers the phone and proceeds to stare blankly at Kano. He's such...a weird guy, that cricket. Then, slowly, a lopsided grin curls.]

[ Gross mushy bracket text, it's a good thing Kano can't read minds— or he'd be embarrassed and would turn around and walk away, probably. But he can't and he's just happy to see that stupid smile on Maverick's face, the one that he's seen plenty of times when he's Nekano but so so rarely when he's just himself, and that feels good too. ]
