He's quick to duck out of the way, though, hands in his pockets to accentuate a shrug. ]

[ Gross mushy bracket text, it's a good thing Kano can't read minds— or he'd be embarrassed and would turn around and walk away, probably. But he can't and he's just happy to see that stupid smile on Maverick's face, the one that he's seen plenty of times when he's Nekano but so so rarely when he's just himself, and that feels good too. ]

Kano hovers over to the side and stares as Maverick makes his valiant attempts to scratch up the lock without getting the key in. Kano could help, yeah, but no. ]

Shut the fuck up... [He doesn't want Kano's help anyway!!! He's got this. He's not doing so bad, he just needs to take a deep breath, hold it...there!] Okay, now we gotta be quiet.

[It's an exaggerated whisper... Anyway, door is open, Mav is home, Mav is almost falling over while he tries to kick his shoes off, shoes are off!! Victory!]

His boots take a bit longer to get off and he'll also lose and inch if he does that, so they're staying on, sorry Ramona. He'll tip-toe quietly through the apartment, grab himself a glass of water, just sort of making himself at home while Maverick celebrates small victories. ]

[It's bizarre to see someone getting themselves water in his home, which was usually just for him and Ramona, but he's not opposed to it, he decides as he locks the door back up. Just...a weird feeling. Satisfied everything's good to go, he trots after Kano.]

Hey, get me one too, huh? Even if I'm already gonna be fucked over, I can tell. Stupid fucking cocktails...

[Hydration is still important...and now he's off to his room, dramatically clearing the hanging sheets like a grand entrance is really necessary right now. Hello, room!]

[ Watch him eat everything in the fridge as soon as Maverick is asleep. Before that, though, he finishes up his half glass of water and fills up the same one to take back to Maverick's room, throwing a glance over to where he imagines Ramona's room would be. Hopefully she isn't like Maverick and would come barging in with a knife in her hand when she hears a voice that shouldn't be in her home. ]
