Yeah. [Maybe it's not the question he means. It's that Kano's invested, enough to form elaborate schemes to protect Nana. To want to bring Tsuyukusa out of his jelly isolation--the way he seems to think about little details about people, notices them. Entertain Yuya's inane desires and questions, even when he thinks he's probably being annoying.

They're hard words for Yuya's alcohol-addled, tired brain to be piecing together. But he smiles with a fondness in his expression, glad to have found a friend in Kano.] You too.

[ There's a stupid amount of people he's invested in and he's convinced nothing good will come of it- but nothing good had come out of tightening his circle and letting nobody else in, so maybe he's just destined for nothing good to happen ever? Sounds reasonable, sounds like karma, the way Yuya tells him he's either funny or fun, and all Kano can think is that he's sorry he has to deceive Yuya into thinking he's any of that.

He mentally rubs his face with his hands, and laughs. ]

Pff- hahaha, look at that sappy grin of yours, Yu~ya, you're drunk. Come on, come on, I'll walk you back to your room, get on my knees and beg forgiveness from Tsuyukusa, and we'll call it a night~

I'm not drunk! [Yuya grins lopsidedly before moving to get up from the chair.] They didn't let me have seconds.

[But he won't fight being walked back to his room, even though he's sure he can handle it.]

[ He laughs again, and while the urge to sling one of Yuya's arms over his shoulders like he needs that amount of help is strong, he'll have to settle for guiding Yuya out the room and down the hall with a hand on the small of his back. ]

You can get drunk having the firsts of a hundred drinks~ I bet there were at least that many, weren't there?

[ Even if Yuya only took sips, those sips will add up! Especially if he'd never really drank before, that tolerance will get smashed in an instant, and if Yuya's in any danger whatsoever of throwing up, it needs to be not on this floor. ]

I wasn't counting. [But he's never really drank before, save a little sake at new year's, so it's true his tolerance is low. He nearly bumps into the doorway on the way out, but at least he's managing walking.

He does grab the railing when they reach the stairs, having to take those slower to avoid tripping.] Thanks.

You can say thanks after you get to the bottom of the stairs with your teeth still intact...

[ Stairs are the worst... He'd move his hand up just in case he needs to grab Yuya's collar, but then maybe he'd snap Yuya's neck by accident anyways, so let him just... link arms with Yuya, not as embarrassing as holding hands and he can justify that it's steadier. ]

[Yuya does stumble a couple times, but the combination of the railing and Kano's hold keeps him upright at least. At least it's only one floor...

He rocks forward like he's testing the ground when they hit the second floor.] Thanks!

[He said he could say it again... Yuya tugs as he turns down the hall, fishing his keys out of his pocket.

It takes a couple attempts to jam it into the lock, though. His coordination is still a little shot.]

[ ...Haha, he's such a dork.

Kano lets go and stands back while Yuya keeps stabbing the lock, he might break it before he manages to get the key inside the hole at this rate. ]

There you go~ You got it~ Turn to the left, now~

Aha! [He grins triumphantly when he gets the key in, twisting the lock and pulling the door open.

He fumbles for the light switch, but even without it, it's evident from the moonlight in the window that Tsuyukusa's tank is empty.

Yuya pauses.] Eh, he's not back yet either?

[ Huh... Kano takes a quick look around to make sure Yoki isn't back yet either, before stepping in and making a beeline straight for the tank, circling it curiously, trying to see if the jellyfish is just extra translucent at night, or maybe he'd gotten stuck under a rock or otherwise hidden amongst the things in the tank.

But it's empty. ]

Hu~h... Well, it is only midnight, or a bit after. Night's still early! He didn't seem the type, but maybe his mind's been open and he's out partying~

[ ...no, that's overly optimistic and he's worried ]

Can't be helped, can't be helped... I'll go out and look for him and make sure he comes home. Go ahead and sleep, Yuya.

Are you sure? I can help. [Two people is better than one, except when one of those people is tipsy and probably close to falling asleep.

But he has to offer anyway.]

[ Yeah, Yuya looks close to falling asleep on his feet, and he's already done a lot tonight too, in between dancing with everybody and making sure they had a good time, and joining the battle to fight off the daemons... Everything Kano wishes he could have done half a well, but this'll be his chance to make up for that, even if just a little. ]

You can help by staying in here! I need somebody to be a lookout in case he comes back, right? Otherwise, I'll be running around all night for no reason, like a fool. If you hear him come back, just send me a text. Can you do that for me?

[He's got a point about that, so Yuya nods and gives Kano a mock salute, pulling his phone out of his pocket after.] I can do that! And I'll leave the door unlocked so you two can get in if Toki isn't back yet.

[ Why do people keep leaving their doors unlocked, that so trusting??

Tsuyukusa should have a set of keys on him, if Kano remembers correctly, but then there's Toki who's purposely going to get smashed tonight and if he gets back first and the door is locked, he would probably give up on unlocking the door and just sleep outside in the hallway........ He would do that. It's sad how easily Kano can imagine that. ]

Alright~! It's a plan then! I'll bring him home as soon as I find him!

[Yuya normally doesn't, but honestly that hasn't prevented his room from being broken into anyway.] Sure, sure. Do your best!

[Yuya waves Kano off before he sits at his desk, turning his phone off mute to listen for alerts. And then he waits,, either until he hears from Kano, Tsuyukusa, or falls asleep.]

Yuya?
Yuya, are you awake?
If not, I'm going to call you.

[ But also, like. He only gives Yuya three seconds to read and respond before dialing his number, it's faster and more importantly, louder. ]

[Yuya definitely dozed off, but his phone ringing right in his ear shakes him back to awareness.

He blearily swipes the call to answer, holding it to his ear.] What's up?

It's Kano.

[ since he's pretty sure Yuya answered the phone without looking to see who the caller id is

but before anything else, it's best Kano doesn't jump to conclusions, so... ]

Just checking in. Any news for me? Is he back yet?

No. Toki's not back, either.

[Which is only kind of a relief if only because Toki's mental state is just always mildly worrying for Yuya.]

[ There's a long sigh to be heard on the other side of the receiver, but it's honestly relief and not exasperation. If Toki's not back, it should be better. ...maybe. ]

Alright, alright. Hmm... Are you sitting or lying down?

I'm sitting at my desk. [There's a pause.] Kano, what is it?

[ ...Right, there's really no beating about the bush, is there? ]

I found his axe thing, all bent out of shape. There was a lot of blood... I don't think anybody could lose that much and survive. Haven't found a body yet, though.

[There's a long pause.

Then the loud clattering of Yuya's chair as it falls over, and he's practically running out the door.] Where are you.

[ Oh geez, even though he'd made sure Yuya was sitting- ]

I'm making my way back... Meet me at the auditorium? If you have a flashlight somewhere handy, that'd be great. A bottle of water if there's one lying around. I dunno if you keep painkillers in your room?

I'll have a flashlight, and water. I'll be there soon!

[He's less sure about the painkillers, but his phone has a light and he can circle back for a bottle of water in his dorm.]
