He doesn't each often, and he doesn't eat much, because he's never hungry, too stressed to have an appetite and when he does eat, he feels a little sick from it. What you're eating matters just as much. It's not healthy to live on nothing but packaged snack foods.

[Plus whatever that spell he sees over you is about...unfortunately, he doesn't have the expertise to make sense of what he's seeing. He's never had to learn more than how to tell who a spell was going to target before.]

The effects of malnutrition are gradual. It's easy to not recognize them because you've forgotten what it feels like to be healthy.

[It's subtle, but there's a pained look in his eyes...as though he's personally seen that kind of misery before.]

Haha, I wonder if I've ever been healthy in my life? There's so much food here, after all! There's no way anybody would starve with this much around~ Do you also eat at the dining hall? Or maybe you go out to town? I wonder if you can cook as well as Imelda can?

I usually eat in the dining hall, so I can stay close by in case of dangerous incidents. I can cook if necessary, but I don't consider myself a master chef. It's never been a particularly high priority for me, since I spent a majority of my time these past decades in areas where supermarkets aren't exactly commonplace.

Ohh, how disappointing! I was hoping to eat something home cooked~ I guess I'll just have to see if Nana-chan has any leftover banana bread she can spare! Gotta get my serving of fruit in for the day, right?

Sorry to disappoint. I won't discourage you from getting food from friends, just so long as you aren't eating nothing but junk.

[ Please don't force him to eat spicy things, he'll cry. Like, literally. His nose will also run, and that's annoying. ]

Bell peppers come in multiple colors, none of which are spicy.

Heh... hm...... They're still kinda bitter, though!! Ah- I think there's tomatoes? Aren't tomatoes a vegetable?? Doesn't that count?

Technically, they're fruits...but I suppose it's better than nothing.

[ They go in salads and therefore they're a vegetable. Ketchup is a vegetable. Ketchup and fries is vegetarian and healthy. Let him believe these things.

[ Apparently, he has no intention of coming with. ]

[His expression softens, in what might have been a smile if his face wasn't stuck in a perpetual scowl.]

Okay, okay, let's go!! I'm ready to go right now!! Out, out, out-- gotta lock the door!

[ He proceeds to shoo Ziggy out the door, but at least he's also coming with this time, instead of immediately slamming the door in Ziggy's face as soon as he crosses the threshold. ]

[This time, he leaves as he's ushered out. There's a definite softness in his eyes...before they widen slightly and he spends a few moments staring off into the middle distance. When whatever was distracting him passes, he quickly glances down the hall.]

[ A brief lapse might have been missed, but not several moments of silent staring; Kano frowns and lets Ziggy take his time coming back around, and once it looks like his eyes have refocused, Kano skips off down the hall in front to lead the way. ]

You never said you're a Seer!! What was it? Anything cool? Was it the eyes???

...You don't need to be a seer to look into the past. I have...very vivid memories of some things, and your behavior just now reminded me of something.

[The kid doesn't need to know it was a full on flashback. He'll just follow along at a less energetic gait, doing his best not to sound as awkward as he feels. Unfortunately, he's not a great actor.]

[ He's a terrible actor and for all Kano knows, vivid memories are typically bad memories, things like watching his mother die in front of him every times he tries to sleep, not at all anything he wants to be reminded of in his waking hours. ]

Alright~! So it's going to be like this!!

[ He stops short, and loops on around and behind Ziggy so Ziggy walks in front instead— so he doesn't have to look at Kano, and doesn't have to be reminded of anything bad. ]
