[His expression softens, in what might have been a smile if his face wasn't stuck in a perpetual scowl.]

Okay, okay, let's go!! I'm ready to go right now!! Out, out, out-- gotta lock the door!

[ He proceeds to shoo Ziggy out the door, but at least he's also coming with this time, instead of immediately slamming the door in Ziggy's face as soon as he crosses the threshold. ]

[This time, he leaves as he's ushered out. There's a definite softness in his eyes...before they widen slightly and he spends a few moments staring off into the middle distance. When whatever was distracting him passes, he quickly glances down the hall.]

[ A brief lapse might have been missed, but not several moments of silent staring; Kano frowns and lets Ziggy take his time coming back around, and once it looks like his eyes have refocused, Kano skips off down the hall in front to lead the way. ]

You never said you're a Seer!! What was it? Anything cool? Was it the eyes???

...You don't need to be a seer to look into the past. I have...very vivid memories of some things, and your behavior just now reminded me of something.

[The kid doesn't need to know it was a full on flashback. He'll just follow along at a less energetic gait, doing his best not to sound as awkward as he feels. Unfortunately, he's not a great actor.]

[ He's a terrible actor and for all Kano knows, vivid memories are typically bad memories, things like watching his mother die in front of him every times he tries to sleep, not at all anything he wants to be reminded of in his waking hours. ]

Alright~! So it's going to be like this!!

[ He stops short, and loops on around and behind Ziggy so Ziggy walks in front instead— so he doesn't have to look at Kano, and doesn't have to be reminded of anything bad. ]

You don't have to worry, I'm not likely to get distracted again. It just...surprised me, that's all.

I'm not worried!!! You just gotta go first, or they— Do you have a car??? Can you drive or is it not safe if you seize out while driving??

Getting lost in my memories like that is rare, it's never inhibited my driving before.

[Also, sorry Kano, but he's heading for the elevator. At least he's also giving Kano's guards a look and a nod that gets them to back off?]

[ There's a first time for everything and Kano would rather not having his first time being grabbing the steering where in front of an unconscious Ziggy, because no matter what the truth is, people will only see what they want.

Kano's glad to see the guards go away, but he also takes the stairs instead of the elevator. he hasn't touched that elevator in three years. ]

[...Well, alright. If Kano would rather take the stairs, they'll take the stairs. Just...don't mind that he's a little slow going down them. His half-metal body is a little heavy to be rushing down slopes.]

[ Kano hops up onto the railing and slides down the length of it instead of bothering with the steps themselves. It's fine that he's ahead of Ziggy... You know? This could be the opportunity he's been waiting for, the guards assuming Ziggy has everything under control and can take the evening off, and so Kano grins to himself and races down the stairs as fast as he can. ]

Don't get too far ahead, I don't enjoy having to run.

[If Kano doesn't listen, however...he has his own way to shortcut the stairs. But please don't make him have to jump all the way down them, his method of keeping his weight from damaging the floor landing would still leave scorch marks.]

[ He does not listen, hood flipped up over his head as if that blocks his hearing enough to be an excuse. ]

[Welp. Then he'll get to see Ziggy catch up by leaping down the stairs and using his fire magic to do a wonderful imitation of rocket boots to slow his landing.]

[ screams bloody murder as the stairwell lights up on fire(???)

Kano thinks he's being attacked or something and suddenly this is not as fun as he thought it would be. ]

[Relax, it's only a little bit of fire. Just enough to keep him from crashing into the floor.]

Calm down, it was just to keep my weight from damaging the floor. This body isn't designed for keeping up with running teenagers.

[ Nobody calms down when told to calm down, and certainly not Kano. ]

[ Kano is going to run away after the meal, knowing that Ziggy won't have the strength to chase after him. Sorry. At least he'll run for somewhere familiar, and that's Ramona's inn. ]
