[That Sharpie addition will terrify Toki when he reads it. Good job, Kano. If Kano chooses to explore further, he will find three notebooks shoved under the mattress. Two are for visions, one filled, one just started. The vision notebooks contain a mix of French and Japanese, no completed sentences, lists of words, some underlined, some circled. Lines where the pen has moved of its own accord if Toki had a vision while writing in them.

Starting twenty or so pages from the end of the first notebook, almost every page has a sketched eye on it. Several of those pages are only filled with eyes. The second vision notebook contains mostly eye drawings, more disjointed word salad than the other notebook, slanted writing that digs into the pages, sentences starting only to turn into scribbles of nothing coherent. The third notebook, titled "Screenplays About My Cat" is for Yuya's nightmares. Like the vision notebooks, it's mainly word salad in two languages. Everything is related to pain, death, screaming, and other things alluding to murder. There are no lines or spaces or punctuation. Sketches of Yuya sleeping accompany almost every new page.]

[ If Kano knew his good(?) intentions would be taken like that, he might feel bad. Or he might not, after skimming through the first two notebooks and understanding nothing but still pulling out his phone and systematically snapping a photo of every single page for posterity, and then the third one... The third notebook is where he really starts becoming concerned, not only for Toki but for Yuya as well.

Toki... thinks Yuya as a cat. There's creepy pictures of Yuya lying there asleep, like this is what Toki does at night. Stuff about pain and murder?? Oh my god. Toki is planning to murder Yuya. Maybe all the pressure and stress from school has finally made him crack— the repetitive eyes is basically evidence that Toki's mind has snapped. Oh my god. Yuya's going to die. God.

Kano pockets this third notebook. God. Toki is an aspiring murderer, but he is still Kano's friend, and so Kano will take care of the evidence. ]

[Toki returns a few minutes later, presuming Kano should be done with the drilling by then at least. He has a box of chocolate frosted croissants with him. If Kano ate all the donuts while he was gone, Toki should still have something there for Yuya. A weird apology for the smothering and getting him up in the middle of the night to look at a hole in the closet. He doesn't look to see if Yuya's still sleeping.]

Is he done yet!? Do we have a secret passage!?

[ Kano hops down off the bed and lets the eyes reappear all over Toki's space, bounding straight towards Toki and clasping a hand over his mouth. This is the guy who should've been smothered in his sleep. ]

It's done, I'm done~!! But you gotta keep it quiet, Toki, or it won't be secret!!!

[Toki raises an eyebrow and mutters something into Kano's hand. He holds out the box of croissants. Guess Kano gets those too.]

[ He has no idea what Toki says, but hell yes, more food. These won't fit in his pockets so he'll have to just hold them. ]

Huh? What was that?

There's no one else on this floor! No one can hear me!

[Except Yuya, but he already knows about it. Toki needs to go examine Kano's work, and he heads for the closet.]

We should get like a step stool or a tiny ladder!

He~h, I'm super jealous of that, you know! Upstairs is always so crowded, and now there's all these other guys too!

[ The guards!!! They don't even trust him to sleep in his room, having taken to standing guard at his bedroom door. Joke's on them, when he can just escape down here.

It's pretty shoddy work, and if anybody tried to hop down through Kano's closet floor or haul themselves up through the closet ceiling, they'll be getting hands and arms full of splinters for their trouble. Their feet, too, if Toki's not wearing shoes and decides to step inside the closet where Kano hasn't cleaned up at all. It'll take some polishing, but nothing a step stool or tiny ladder can't help. ]

Do you think a ladder will be easier than a pole? I thought sliding down a pole would be really fun~!! I dunno how to climb back up, though!!

You should just take one of the rooms down here! No one will know! I learned how to pick locks~!

[He learn to break into Kano's room, but that's information Kano doesn't need to know. The closet is currently not hazardous, as Toki is wearing shoes. Because he went to get croissants. He looks at the disappointing work and splintery wood around the hole.]

We could get a pole!

[Sure, why not? Yuya could probably climb it with no trouble. Toki's tall enough he'd spend minimal time actually touching the pole and much physical strength isn't needed. The question being, would Kano be able to get back up there himself?]

But maybe a ladder is better! Or like a rope with footholds!

[ Thanks for thinking about Kano's lack of both height and physical prowess. A ladder with footholds would probably be best, and it's something he can pull up into his side of the portal and cover up the hole when he doesn't want the other two coming up to his room, a selfish one-way passageway. ]

Hm, hmm~ Rope would do the trick, I think! I'll go out and find some later, but for now... Let's talk about expansion!!

[ He goes over to Toki's side of the room and knocks his knuckles against the wall separating this room and the next. ]

Maybe I can take this one?

Rope it is!

[Then Kano's knocking on the wall.]

You want to like make a tunnel!? I thought you'd just take a room and use the hallway. But really, your idea makes more sense! There's guards down at the end of the hall. They use the furthest room away!

Ehh, which end of the hall? They get the RA end? Unfair...!

[ Which end is important, though, because that'll determine whether he's taking a sledgehammer to Toki's wall or Yuya's. He wants to be as far away from the guards as possible. Who's wall is getting destroyed? ]

No, the other end! By the common room!

[Because that's where the stairs and the elevator are. They need to cover the escape routes. Looks like it's Yuya's wall that gets destroyed. Or... Toki looks at the door to the bathroom that's on Yuya's side.]

Why don't you just take the connected room?

[Did he just say something smart? The end of the world is coming sooner than expected.]

[ ...Oh my god, that really is smart. ]

I could just take the connected room...

[ Why didn't he think of that. He's a little disappointed about not having the excuse to put a hammer through the wall, though. ]

Less work~!

[Toki opens one of the drawers in his desk and gathers lock picking things, and leaves it open. In the drawer are also various pens and markers, and a Rilakkuma wallet with around 200 euros in it. He goes to pick the lock on the other bathroom door.]

[ wth that's a cute wallet. Kano doesn't have a wallet. Sometimes he sticks bills in his boots. He can continue being a petty thief, but the notebook thumps against his legs when he turns, and he has to remind himself that if this continues, he's going to be sharing an adjoining room with a murderer. Which is fine, because on the flip side, Toki and Yuya are going to be sharing an adjoining room with a murderer too. ]

He~h, that's a fancy trick, isn't it, Toki? Did you learn other stuff too? Like hotwiring cars?

[The bathroom door opens and Kano's new room awaits.]

No, just that!

[It's vague, because he's trying to imagine what "hotwiring" a car means.]

[ This new room looks exactly the same as Kano's room: empty. He immediately begins the process of shoving the two beds together, but he's weak and needs help and waves Toki over to help him. ]

[Kano's attempts to move the beds are so pathetic. Not that Toki will be any better. Instead of shoving them together, he grabs one at a corner and pulls it that way instead, for better leverage. It's slow dragging, but it's working.]

Maybe we should just wake Yuya up?

[Yuya can do the work.]

[ Yeah... Yeah, let's wake up Yuya. Kano takes a deep breath and starts shouting at the top of his lungs—- ]

YUYAAAAAAAAAA!!! HELP!!!!!!!!! IT'S AN EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Whether or not that wakes Yuya up, it brings the guards down the hall and pounding on the door of 204.]

Kano!

[Toki's never that loud, well sometimes, but the guards warned him about going above a certain volume several times. They aren't happy. Stefan spilled his coffee all over his new shoes at the screaming and he is especially displeased.]

[ Oh shit.

Kano turns around and makes a break back for Toki's closet. Goodbye. ]

[Toki could run, but he won't. He's going to let Kano escape and pretend he was the one screaming. Be free, Kano.

The door bursts open to allow Stefan into the room. He has a decibel meter and a glare. Today's second guard, Helen, follows him into the room. Helen is the worst. Toki had flirted with her the first day and she's still pissed.]

I'm sorry! It really was an emergency, though! There was the huge spider and-

[He's cut off by the Helen slamming door shut. Stefan turns to her.]

"Make a requisition for one of those spear guns tomorrow."

[ Toki is the MVP and his sacrifice will not be forgotten. Kano hesitates for just the briefest of moments, but then decides he hasn't stared at enough gross creepy spiders to be able to recreate a convincing gross creepy monstrous spider to support Toki's claims, and even if he did, he's just going to end up speared by one of the guards and that's no good.

Without a pole or ladder, the hole is out of reach so all Kano can really do is hide inside the closet with his hands clamped over his mouth and hold his breath until he hears the door slam and voices disappear. Carefully, he pokes the door open and peers outside. ]

Pssst!

[ Once he gets Toki's attention, he puts a finger to his lips and beckons him over towards the closet. Team meeting. Get in here, Toki. ]

[Toki slowly walks to the closet, making the least amount of noise possible in case there's still a guard lurking around too close outside. His whispers are not very soft.]
