He laughs, leaning back against the couch.] Well yeah! We were talking about it today, and she said she had a date and it was with you.

[ lmfao RIP his blankets, maybe he can convince himself he drools at night or something. ]

Hm~ You talked about it, huh? Well, come on, come on, spill the beans~ Is she expecting much?

[ Like. Does she expect him to be there the entire time, because he sort of has to be in 234095 places at once tonight, and his illusions are good but they're not that good. ]

[Yuya raises a brow, smiling softly as Kano presses--and probably misunderstanding the intentions a little.]

I don't think she's expecting anything other than you being yourself there. [Nana's the kind of person who welcomes and makes room for others. She didn't mention any lavish ideas, and Yuya doubts from knowing her that she's holding them.] I wouldn't worry, because I'm sure you'll both have fun!

... But if you want to be a little more impressive, you can't go wrong with flowers.

[ Haha, joke's on both of them, because Kano's never himself, ever. He hates that self behind all the smoke and illusions and that's why this is probably a mistake, if Nana ends up liking this fabricated persona of his. ]

Heh~ You really think so? Would red roses be too bold? Really, I didn't think you'd be so versed in how to make good impressions on dates! You surprise me every day, you know?

[Yuya laughs heartily.] I've seen it enough on TV! Since it's Valentine's Day, I don't think red roses are too bold at all... but if you think they are, maybe carnations?

[He considers himself and Nana close friends, but he doesn't really know how to woo her personally--and he's never known her to be involved with someone before, so this advice might be a little generic.]

[ Yeah, Kano has no idea what a carnation is. ]

Hm... Does your phone have internet? Can you look up banana flowers for me? Those have to exist, right?

[ Theoretically? It's a fruit tree. Those have to flower. ]

Oh, yeah! [Yuya pulls out his phone, switching the keyboard language before searching in English 'banana flower'.

Which... just shows flowering banana trees, and those aren't terribly practical.] Uh, it's these big purple bulbs. Maybe instead, we should... [He changes his search request to 'banana shaped flower'.]

Here we go! This is called Jerusalem sage. [He butchered pronouncing that.

Yuya turns his phone screen to Kano so he can see. They look like tiny bananas.]

Huh...

[ The big purple bulbs are very strange looking, and he doesn't know whether Nana would appreciate the authenticity of a banana plant flower, or if she'd like something more traditionally yellow banana-like flower instead. ]

It sorta looks like sourgrass. It's a weed, you know? Have you ever chewed the stems?

Sourgrass...? No, I haven't. Do they taste good?

[That's one of two reasons people might eat weeds, anyway.]

Guess what it tastes like~

... Sour? [No shit.] Maybe like lemon?

Something like that~ I wonder if it grows in France? If they do, I'll present you with a who~le bouquet of them, so you'll know!

but they're great weeds, great for plucking off the ground and having people stare at you like some uncultured child. ]

Yuya giggles.] Okay. I'll look forward to it.

[He glances down at his phone, then back at Kano.] Hey--what if you give Nana yellow lilies? The way they open looks like a banana peeling, right?

[ He has a better sense of what a lily looks like, compared to carnations, and bright yellow lilies are really pretty flowers, hard to go wrong with that. ]

Oh, hey, that's not a bad idea either! I might have to go with that! Maybe I can ask you another opinion, since you're so good with flowers? What's a flower you'd give to somebody who doesn't seem like they'd like flowers?

[Yuya grins, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. He's not sure if he'd consider himself good with flowers, but he's flattered.]

Eh... I guess that depends why they don't like flowers? [He tilts his head.] Like if they're usually allergic, or it's too sappy, or they just don't like traditional flowers.

[Though he'd probably circumvent that by giving them something that wasn't a flower at all, but he'll roll with Kano's hypothetical situation here.]

[ He appreciates Yuya working with his hypotheticals here, frowning a little as he tries to imagine why this specific person he has in mind might not like flowers. ]

Hm~ Maybe... I guess I dunno if they'd hate 'em or not, but at the best, they'd be indifferent! Like, "What am I supposed to do with a bunch of flowers?" Something like that~

[ So, basically himself. What do you do with flowers? They're pretty, but you can't hold onto flowers all night during a dance, they're so inconvenient. ]

[Yuya rests his hand on his chin, pausing in thought.]

Hm... I guess in that case, I'd pick a flower that's really striking. Like one that smells incredible, or one that's a weird shape and color they haven't seen before. Just one flower, but one that's really hard to ignore.

[He smiles a little, perking up.] Or you can use the flower as a prop instead of a gift, like as part of a poem. A serenade! But, uh, I guess that only works if you're trying to romance them.

[ He wasn't planning to romance them, but at the suggestion, Kano breaks out into a laugh, barely trying to stifle it and in the end giving up trying to hold it it. ]

A serenade! The best! That's the best! He'd hate that!! I'm going to do exactly that, thanks, Yuya!

Oh--no! [Yuya waves his hands quickly, trying to hold back a laugh from bubbling up in him as well.] You'll get his hopes up, Kano! Don't break his heart!

[... Okay, he starts laughing a little because he knows the situation isn't that and they probably aren't secretly pining for Kano.]

That's the point, isn't it~? I'm going to crush him.

[ But he's laughing too hard to sound very menacing.

Still... He's going to destroy this guy, and he's going to do it with flowers and song. ]

That's terrible! [Yuya snorts, leaning over and raising his eyebrow.] What'd he do to you?

Haha, nothing~!

[ Just an innocent man who Kano's got a grudge against, supposedly. ]

It doesn't matter, never mind that~ It'll be worth it! A flashy flower, a song, that sort of thing's the best! Getting something like that would be real fun, too!
