Here, here, I'll start you off~
It's a classic!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,

[Still red-faced. She actually ducked to the side to try to write this out, so it's about five minutes.]

Poetry is tricky but I guess it's like a song,
So maybe I can sing it too?

...I'm not sure it came out right...

It's a good start, a good start~
See, the trick with poetry is this!
As long as you break the lines up a little,
anything can read like a poem~
But you gotta remember you're writing for somebody else!
So something like this~

Roses are red,
Violets are blue
Poetry is tricky,
but there's no need to be picky,
because it's just like a song,
so I'll sing it to you~

Oh, now I think I see! Yes, it's the first rule of any performance: you must think of the audience before all else.

[ He's already smiling from the prospect of freshly baked bread, even if they're boring none pizza bread, but it brightens even more when he hears her repeat the poem. This poem sort of fell apart at the end.

[ He was preparing himself to laugh and lay on the praise again, but the poem becomes something else and he just sort of stops. Shuts his mouth and stops walking, mind blanking and then racing to catch up because why- ]

...The dance next month? You're asking to go with me?

[ w h y ]

Maybe I should have picked a better medium than a poem.

[Some of those nerves slip through, and her effort to sound like the almost unflappable, practically serene girl slips.

But she smiles and... tries to find a good answer.]

If you want to. I thought it would be nicer than going by myself. And I think it would be fun.

[ He wasn't originally going to go, not wanting to be there with all those people in such a cramped space, with all that noise and all that movement, but... ]

Ah, well, I didn't really think much about going or not, yet. But no one's asked you to go with them?! Isn't that impossible??!

...well... No one has yet!

[She's quiet for a moment. She could be a little more honest, here, that she wants to go with him and it took some effort to work up the nerve.
