[Nana looks up mid-laugh, and seems... confused?

Is he taking apart her door?

She keeps giggling and manages, fumblingly, to open the door. While he's unscrewing the doorknob. Which means the door swings open.

And he's holding the doorknob in his hand.

Nana looks down at the unscrewed doorknob, up to Kano, and then breaks out in a giggle fit again, falling onto her butt, and laughing uproariously on the ground.]

[suddenlybees]

[ This is absolutely what he does, sticking the doorknob into his pocket and now she's never getting it back, and switching it for his phone and snapping a picture of her losing her shit.

Then he crosses the room uninhibited, props his elbows up over Kerrogan's tank, and smiles. ]

I'm here to take a hostage, Nana-chan~ You can't save him.

Oh my god, Kano-kun, you jerk!

[She's laughing and grinning while she says it. She laughs too hard to get up easily, doubled over while on the ground. She grabs at her chair, and it just rolls away from her desk.

And Kerrogan looks up at Kano, as he sits still and largely expressionless on a lily pad. Rrrrribbit.

Nana crawls towards Kano on the ground. She needs to stand up and rescue Kerrogan. But she is laughing too hard to stand up on her own power. So instead she ends up kinda half-groveling, half-laughing behind him.]

Noooo! You can't have him! He still has a long froggie life ahead of him! Take me instead!

[suddenlybees]

[ if only his phone wasn't ancient and actually had video capability, this would be going up on all social media sites that he knows of. Instead, Kano hops up onto the table the tank rests on and sits down on the edge of the glass, looking down at the both of them while he makes his judgement. ]

Are you sure you want to sacrifice yourself in his stead? You'll be mine, after all~ With no escape~

Th-that's...

[She's giggling a bit less -- but she's still smiling enough that the normally flawless performance has a few cracks. She has her hand over her heart, and her expression's gravity shifts into a smile, before she catches herself.]

I'll do it for Kerrogan! The best frog there ever was...

[suddenlybees]

...Alright~!! Kerrogan lives for another day! [ He jabs a finger at the tank, because he's not above bullying animals, ig ] Don't forget this sacrifice Nana-chan's made for you, okay?!

[ With that done, he hops off the table and holds his hand out to Nana— straight out like he's asking to shake hands, not holding hands like they used to. ]

It's like that~ I'll spare his life, as long as you do what I say~ Alright? Deal?

[Kerrogan gives Kano a steely eyed froggy look.

It is a look that says, "Just try it." Unfortunately, it's at Kano's back after he hopped away, and Nana is looking at him. She cracks a smile, and then she reaches a hand up, clasping his in a handshake.

Also she uses it to pull herself to her feet. Then:] Deal!

[ Alright, up she goes...! Once she's on her feet, Kano takes his hand back and stuffs them into his pockets, because he's really got to set something straight here. ]

Nana-chan, are you taking Avery's class? On daemon contracts?

[She blinks -- it takes a second to catch up to the question. Is she?

No.

Should she be? Yes. Yes, she absolutely should. But she's careful to not let that show on her face.]

No... I'm afraid not?

[suddenlybees]

Haha, if this were a classroom, I bet he'd be super mad! But it's like this, right? That sort of promise you made, isn't that the sort you shouldn't ever make? Whether it's to a demon or a person, and especially not me?

[ Doing whatever somebody says... It's just for fun now, but then you run into somebody like Tyzias who makes you sign Capital C Contracts in your own blood. ]

[Kano's always been good at catching her with her guard down.

And she doesn't quite have her defenses in place, because she was laughing and joking a second ago. There's a flicker of something in her eyes. A distant expression, like she's looking right through him. She's thinking about the Giraffe.

About the promise she made, in exchange for the power to see the future -- except it wasn't a promise, it was a wager, and if she loses, it's not her life or freedom, but--]

[Then she catches herself and she smiles. It's fast. Blink and you'd miss it, if you didn't know to look for it.

Nana's smiling again, then, and she laughs; she looks down after that, eyes on her feet.]

...You have a point. I wouldn't want to get caught in a deal I couldn't get out of.

[She looks back up at him, and hooks her left hand around her neck, smiling at him.]

Maybe we should amend it, to say... if you ask nicely, I'll think about it twice as much.

[ It's an unfocused gaze, as quick as it is, Kano catches it but can't read it, doesn't know what secrets she holds behind her smiles and doesn't feel like he's the person to go in there and pry it out, so he rocks back on his heels and huffs a laugh of his own under his breath. Daemon contracts aren't all bad, is what he keeps telling himself, but just because he tells himself that, doesn't make it true. If he could turn back time and had made the other choice, instead of calling for Michael, he wonders whether he would have. ]

Nope~ You already made the promise, there's no backing out~ You'll listen to what I say, if I ask something of you, won't you?

[Nana doesn't want anyone prying those secrets out of her. How on Earth does she keep them safe if they find out?

She pauses, though, before she laughs. She sees what he's getting at. Nevermind that it's a joke -- she could refuse, if it was bad enough. But it's fun to go with.]

Is that how it is? Well... I'll listen! What do you want to ask me?

Hm~

[ Lots of things, but they're questions and requests that he wants to be taken seriously, and now's not the time to bring them up. There'll probably never be a good time, and as much as he's put them off already, they can stand to wait longer still. ]

Nothing for now! I'll take an "IOU" okay? One request at a time, I won't ask for anything else until you've completed the previous request, something like that~

[ Something like little missions he can ask her to partake in, without being part of the gang, small tasks like that. He also collects IOUs and they're great things to have when the other person feels personal responsibility. ]

[Nana blinks once at that, and then she scratches idly behind the back of her head. Not off the bat? She doesn't mind that. She laughs a bit, eyes on the ground.]

...Sure, I can do that. Just text me whenever you want, okay?

[Really, with Nana, she doesn't need a reason to say yes. She wants to be helpful. But the fun of this little arrangement is a nice excuse.

Nana still doesn't know, really, about the gang.]

Hey, Kano-kun... I know I said you should do a nice shirt, slacks, jacket, and a polka dot tie. Do you want to pick the place?

It seems fair. I did call you a bee you-know-what.

[ The IOU is either going to be him texting her for banana bread the next morning or him screaming his head off to be saved seconds before being murdered by a murderous bloodthirsty giraffe daemon, there's no in-between on what he can ask for. ]

Aw, texting's fine but you won't say it out loud? Haha~

[ He teases about that to stall about the place— it's already been a week since Nana first brought it up, and he hasn't done much thinking about what places would be good to go together. He was sort of hoping she'd let the whole thing drop, or choose something else, but he does owe her for being a jerk... ]

Hm... I know you said something about cooking, but how 'bout we just go to a restaurant? Let other people make you happy for a change?

I-I can’t say that out loud! I shouldn’t have typed it at all!

[She looks genuinely flustered at the very thought. Indeed, she’s blushing a little.

It’s merciful that he throws an idea out. She looks up, blinking in surprise and then she smiles. That smile says it all. This idea is a winner for Nana. Get dressed up, go to a restaurant... she looks happy just thinking about it.]

That sounds great! We could go to Venice! There’s nice places there. And boats!

[suddenlybees]

[ Seven whole times, and he's already started spreading it throughout the dorm. Soon, everybody will know of Nana's potty mouth. ]

A meal on the waterfront, huh? Haha, how fancy~ I've never been to Venice, so let's do it~!

[ It sounds expensive... It's a really good thing he has money saved up (thanks Yuya, thanks Toki) because he can really only trick vendors when he's paying in """cash""" and something like this sounds like a credit card level expenses. ]

[She will either laugh or demand further fanciness. Or both. Maybe both.]

Mm-hm! We can get a boat ride, too! Through the canals. I’ve only been there once, but it was really pretty.

When do you want to go? My weekend is pretty open...

Hm~ My weekends are always open, so we can go whenever~

[ He rarely has solid plans for his days, going to class whenever he feels like it, taking naps in between this and that to fill in the hours, so it really is whenever. ]

You decide and let me know! You're supposed to be the boss, making the demands!

I guess I'm bad at being in charge... Is tomorrow too soon? [She doesn't need that much preparation. She has to get a couple things, but she has an outfit.

She just needs something specific for it. And maybe to get some cash -- she doesn't want to ask him to pay for everything.

...and she needs some better anti-nausea medication for the trip over.]

[ She really is bad at being in charge, because the first thing she does is ask him his availability instead of demanding his time. ]

Like I said, I'm free, so we can go whenever~

[ No preparations needed at all from him, because in a blink of an eye, his outfit changes to a black suit and pants, white button-up shirt and polka dot tie. It'll be like this... Of course he's still wearing his usual comfort blanket of a jacket, it just won't look like he's wearing it, and Nana should have no complaints. ]

[There's a reason she said he's in charge of the drama club. Because she just doesn't like to tell people what to do. Even when she does the work.

She beams, though -- and applauds with delight. She's fine with an illusion. There's a flicker of a thought -- how often is he using illusions on himself? -- but it's dismissed.]

That looks--you look really good, Kano-kun!

[She's blushing, in fact. And breaks eye contact. She's a little more flustered than she cares to admit. Nana actually rambles a little to try to distract herself.] So... tomorrow afternoon, about two. I'll get them to get us a ride to Venice.

[ They're going to have to find a new leader for the drama club bc idk if anybody else will let Kano make decisions after the Bee Movie Play.

He'd done it to show off, but being clapped for and praised makes him self-conscious, and then she blushes and turns away and it's even worse, and he lets the illusion fall back to his old clothing again so that neither of them have to stand there and be embarrassed any longer than necessary. ]

Tomorrow afternoon at two. So you can make decisions after all~ Alright! Then, I'll see you tomorrow!
